Dear Mr, and Mrs. Newton,

My daughter Ellen just won the Afto Newton Memorial Pony trophy today, She was so honored to receive it especially after hearing so many great things about Afton. I decided to look to see if I could find out about her books and came across this website.

Afton must have been amazing. I will share this site with Ellen and we will be sure to get a hold of her books. Ellen is a serious student and reader who especially loves history! I am sure she will enjoy the books.

God Bless you both. I am sorry for your loss. I can tell form her biography she trusted in the Lord and knew him and counted her many blessings. What a wonderful gift she must have been for both of you.

Even though I didn't know Afton very well, she was still part of our very large extended family.
The reality of the loss of someone that lived life to the fullest is uncomprehensible. After loosing someone that has been a constant in your life is very difficult to understand. After two years I still struggle with it everyday!
I just wanted to let the entire Newton Family, know that I am thinking about you and my prayers are with you.

Dear Afton, I just learned of your passing. I didn't realize you were so ill. I am quite shocked, and reminded of how precious and short life is. You are two years younger than I am. I also didn't know you were an author. Looking over your website, I enjoyed catching up on your life these past years. I remember the many times we showed together in Oklahoma and around the country.
